OIA Partners with Habitat for Humanity
OIA students partnered with Habitat For Humanity to paint sheds that the students also designed. The project is a perfect example of what OPS means when we say educate the whole child!!
Kentucky Arts Council Artist Molly Eric is working with students at all five OPS elementary schools to create a decoupage canvas based on a book the students read. Decoupage is a term used to describe the craft of decorating objects with paper cut-outs. v
The Owensboro Innovation Academy is partnering with Brescia University to offer an early college program for OIA students. With the close proximity of OIA to Brescia, students will be able to walk to Brescia to take college classes, which will result in the students’ opportunity to earn an Associate Degree while in high school.
OPS Recognizes Community Partners at Opening Day
A group of Owensboro Public Schools teachers have created a one-of-a-kind professional learning program for OPS teachers called DRIVE OPS. DRIVE stands for Developing Relationships and Inspiring Visionary Educators. The goal is to create a fellowship of teachers who inspire and empower others to improve teaching and learning in their schools.
