What: DCPS and OPS Youth Service Center leaders are partnering up to show the Netflix documentary “Audrie & Daisy,” a film that focuses on social media bullying. Pizza will be served. “Audrie & Daisy” is an urgent real-life drama that examines the ripple effects on families, friends, schools and communities when two underage young women find that sexual assault crimes against them have been caught on camera. From acclaimed filmmakers Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, “Audrie & Daisy” takes a hard look at America’s teens who are coming into the age in this new world of social media bullying.
Where: Daviess County High School auditorium, 4255 New Hartford Road.
When: Free pizza will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, followed by the movie at 7 p.m.
Why: Both DCPS and OPS school systems’ Youth Service Centers want to create awareness about the effects of social media bullying. The goal is to change the culture, teach digital citizenship and create healthy relationships. The film is being presented in partnership with New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services.

The Owensboro High School steel pan band known as Red Steel is going back to its director’s hometown to perform at the 18th Arts on the Green, Fine Arts and Crafts Festival in La Grange, Ky. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Noon. Red Steel director/Owensboro High School assistant band director Aaron Klausing is an Oldham County High School graduate.
OPS percussion students of all ages will perform “Connected” on April 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. at the OHS auditorium. The show incorporates multiple art forms like band, choir, orchestra, theatre, dance and visual art. This unique experience takes the audience through a story via percussion.
