The Owensboro Public Schools’ central office, maintenance and transportation department raised $1817.95 for the Goodfellows Club. The four departments (central office was divided between instruction/technology and supt./business/personnel/food service/pupil support) had a friendly competition over the last month to see who could raise the most money.
For the last three years, Estes Elementary School has had a special guest greet students in the morning around the holidays. On Monday, Dec. 12 from 7:25 a.m. to 8:05 a.m., the “Estes Elf On A Shelf” arrived to the school frozen with his friends in a pool. The elf is played by Estes curriculum facilitator Ryan Williams.
Owensboro High School teacher Cody Russelburg used his dog Oliver to teach his psychology students about operant conditioning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the south gym.
Sutton Elementary School hosted an open house to showcase the school’s new gym/performing arts center.

About two weeks ago, Owensboro Innovation Academy students planted the seed for what blossomed on Monday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. at the Museum of Science and History.
