The Owensboro Innovation Academy is partnering with Brescia University to offer an early college program for OIA students. With the close proximity of OIA to Brescia, students will be able to walk to Brescia to take college classes, which will result in the students’ opportunity to earn an Associate Degree while in high school.
The Owensboro Innovation Academy will host an open house from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday. Jan. 10 at the school located at 1010 Allen Street.
About two weeks ago, Owensboro Innovation Academy students planted the seed for what blossomed on Monday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. at the Museum of Science and History.
Owensboro Innovation Academy students created living museums at OPS’ Estes Elementary School and DCPS’ Meadowlands Elementary School on Friday, Nov. 18 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:35 p.m. OIA students were dressed as Renaissance historical figures bringing history alive.

The Owensboro Innovation Academy opened its doors for the first time today, welcoming just over 80 freshman students. As the first high school in Kentucky to be a part of the national New Tech Network, OIA focuses on project-based learning where students immerse themselves into hands-on projects as a way to actively learn valuable subject material.
