One CAN Make a Difference

On October 17, Estes students began collecting cans of food and other non-perishable food items that will be donated to a local food pantry to help people in our community. Donations will be accepted until November 22 of these items: soup, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, dry pasta, peanut butter, crackers, Ravioli, Spaghetti O's, and canned vegetables such as corn, green beans, peas, carrots, mixed vegetables, potatoes, and fruit.

**Please check for expiration dates before donating.**

The top three classrooms with the most donations will receive a cupcake party for their hard work!

Early Learning Academy News

Recently our Early Learning Academy students have been learning about measurement. As a summary of the unit they took a field trip to the nearby Kight Home Center to see measuring tools in action. If you know an ELA student ask them what distance means. Most of them will be able to tell you that distance is “how far something goes.” A big thank you to our community helpers at the Owensboro Police Department. They helped our students walk across Highway 54 safely on their visit.

October - A Month of Giving

Estes Fourth Grade students are working on a Service Project this month. They are going to be gathering materials to put in a care package for those less fortunate. If you would like to donate, please have your child turn in their items to their homeroom teacher. The class that donates the most items will win a pizza party!

Here is a list of the items we will be collecting: deodorant, shampoo, bars of soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, Chapstick, washcloths, gloves, hats, coats, combs, and tissues (travel size).

Thank you!
