As a school, we set Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) to help our students grow through the Leader in Me process. Our school wide reading WIG is for each student to read 100 minutes every week. When students meet their weekly goal, they are entered into a quarterly drawing for a $20 gift card to Books a Million.

Wells Fargo Advisors have partnered with Newton Parrish for the past 4 years with a read aloud program and has donated 80 books to our school over that time. Every Spring, they choose 20 books to read aloud to Kindergarten and P1 students and then donated those books to become a part of our classroom libraries. Here is Larry Beisel reading to Mrs. Lewis's P1 students.
Mr. Alex Bryant, from Kentucky Farm Bureau, read to Mrs. Howard's students. He's teaching the students about agriculture through his read aloud. After his read aloud he donated the book to their classroom library.
