Krista Thompson, Principal

All classroom teachers teach the same content as determined by the School Council, that is, the Kentucky Common Core Standards. The skills taught to our students K-4 are parallel with the state-mandated standards and go beyond this set of minimum standards.

Our curriculum is delivered via a wide array of teaching strategies, materials, and programs. Our teachers use research-based programs in reading and math. We have individualized web-based programs for reading and math (Compass Learning, Moby Max), and independent reading programs (Accelerated Reader) with Computers, Laptops, iPods, and iPads in the classrooms, Media Center, and the Computer Lab. Differentiated instructional strategies are implemented by the teachers to ensure academic success for all students. Daily physical activities occur on the playground, walking track, and in the gymnasium.
