Sutton 3rd and 4th graders have been learning about Bluegrass music with the Bluegrass in the Schools (B.I.T.S.) sponsored by the Bluegrass Museum from January 2nd through January 13th. Today they were able to welcome a Bluegrass Band out of Nashville, TN called High Fidelity. The students learned more about the history of Bluegrass and its Founder, Bill Monroe, while clapping to the beat of the music performed by the group.
The Bluegrass Museum offers a Saturday class for students which is designed to make bluegrass music more accessible to all who are interested in learning to play an instrument. Please visit: http://www.bluegrassmuseum.org/saturday-music-lessons/ for more information.

The Sutton Dance Team performed during half time of the varsity game on Friday. Friday was Sutton night at OHS. 182 students from Sutton were able to come to the OHS game and sit with Mrs. Johnson while snacking on Popcorn and a drink form the concession stand. This was a reward for students who sold Discount Cards at the beginning of the year. The night started with the Sutton Chorus singing the national anthem and the dance team showing of their amazing routine at halftime despite the technical difficulties. The night ended with OHS beating the Mustangs 74-54. Go Red Devils !!!
