Kentucky’s 172 school districts closed to in-person classes in March 2020 to help contain the
spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Due to the closure, the Kentucky Department of
Education applied for and received a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education (USED) for
assessments, accountability and school identification, and reporting requirements under the
Every Student Succeeds Act.
There is information that will not be available on the School Report Card (SRC) for the 2019-
2020 school year due to the suspension of statewide K-PREP testing and accountability. An
overview of the impacted components within the SRC is provided in a document from KDE.
