The Red Devils football team hosts Ohio Co on Friday, Nov 8th at Rash Stadium with kickoff at 7:00. This is the 1st Round of the KHSAA Class 5A Playoffs. Football Season Ticket Holders may purchase tickets in the OHS Athletic Office on Thursday (Nov 7th) from 9am - 3pm and Friday (Nov 8th) from 9am - noon. No season passes or reserved seat passes will be accepted for the playoffs. All tickets are $7, cash only.
Tomorrow is Election Day 2024! Owensboro Public Schools will be closed tomorrow in observance. We encourage everyone who hasn't yet voted to get to the polls and make your voices heard! Polls in Owensboro are open until 6 p.m. on November 5. As long as you are in line before 6 p.m. you will be eligible to vote, so get out there and cast your vote!

The Owensboro and Daviess County Public Schools Boards of Education will hold a joint Board Meeting at Owensboro Public Schools' Central Office this Thursday, October 17 at 6 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to hear a presentation from the Kentucky School Boards Association regarding the Amendment 2 ballot measure proposed for this upcoming election and how it would impact public education in Kentucky, specifically in Owensboro/Daviess County.
This meeting will be open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. There will be no public comment session as this is a special called meeting with no action items. Those in attendance will not be permitted to have signs, shirts, etc. promoting any position related to this ballot measure.
The annual High Attendance Day for the 2024-25 school year falls on September 12 this year.
We are encouraging all students and families to set a high attendance mark for their school.
Each of the schools within OPS will compete against each other to see who has the highest attendance for that day. The winning schools will be awarded with prizes for both students and staff for their efforts.
Get a good night's sleep and set your alarm to join us tomorrow, September 12 and help us set the high attendance mark for this school year!

Here is a reminder about the safety and security procedures that are in place for all of our OHS athletic events this year. Please familiarize yourself with them and arrive early enough to get through the screening process.
Incoming 6-8 grade girls: Tryouts for the OMS softball team will be held Tuesday, July 30 from 4-5:30p at Jack C Fisher Park! If you're interested, we hope you will join us!
Please join us Tuesday, July 30 immediately following the School Board meeting (approximately 5:15 p.m.) for a welcome reception for our new superintendent Dr. Wendy Duvall! The reception will be held at Central Office, 450 Griffith Ave. Hope to see you there!
Join us this Friday from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. at either Owensboro Walmart location for our 8th Annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive! You can donate to either location and the supplies will help our students have everything they need to start the school year off right!
School supply lists are available now for the 2024-25 school year!

Owensboro High School and Emerson Academy do not have lists, but students are encouraged to purchase blank notebooks and writing utensils to be prepared for the first day of school.
Any questions about your schools' list should be directed to representatives from those schools.

REMINDER: There will be no Summer Food Service tomorrow, June 19, 2024 in observance of the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. Service will resume on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Students may be eligible for summer nutrition assistance. SEBT is intended to reduce hunger and food insecurity for students who lose access to free and reduced-priced meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), during the summer when school is not in session.

It’s time to elect SBDM parents for the 2024-25 school year. I hope you’ll consider running or encourage a friend to do so.
In KY, each school has a School Based Decision Making council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents. The council is in charge of making important decisions about how the school operates and supports student achievement.
Parents elect the two parent members who will receive training and serve from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025.
