Owensboro Public Schools and Audubon Area Community Services have partnered to bring healthcare to each of our schools.
This partnership will create in depth, school-based healthcare centers for OPS students and employees that goes beyond taking temperatures and dispensing medication. Students and staff will be able to be seen on-site in our school buildings by a medical professional or through telehealth services for a variety of medical issues.
By implementing this service, it provides better access to healthcare services for our students and staff without the hassle of visiting an urgent care facility or a trip to the emergency room. Patients will be seen on-site in our school buildings and will have access to the same care they would have in an urgent care environment.
Some of the services that are available include:
- Minor health issues (headache, vomiting, injuries, etc.)
- Immunizations
- Physical Exams
- Wellness Checks
- School and Sports Physicals
Students and staff who wish to be seen in one of our school-based healthcare centers will need to complete an online consent form. Parents/guardians of students will be notified by a healthcare professional before any treatment is provided for their student.
More information about school-based healthcare can be found in the "Health" section of our district website.
