Once again, Owensboro Public Schools will be participating in the US Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program, providing free breakfast and lunch meals to individuals 18 and under throughout the summer.
Summer Food Service will begin Tuesday, May 30 and will consist of both mobile routes and dine-in locations for those interested in participating. There will be no meal service June 19 or July 4 due to national holidays.
Breakfast Mobile Routes (Begins June 5)
Breakfast and lunch will not be served at the same time as it has for the past few years. There will be separate meal services for both breakfast and lunch.
This year, Owensboro Public Schools is required to return to the pre-COVID rules for Summer Food Service. This means that ALL meals MUST be consumed on site either on the mobile routes or at the dine-in locations. Children receiving the meals MUST remain on site. Family members are no longer allowed to pick up meals and take them away from the food service site.
This service is completely free for anyone 18 and under regardless of which school district they attend or their household income status.
